Start Tabwright automatically when Windows starts up

Per-device. Turn this on so this till relaunches Tabwright on its own after a reboot or power cut — no one has to open it. Recommended for any register that should always be running (so overnight jobs like the 4 AM Close Day never get missed). Pair it with Windows auto-login for a fully unattended restart.

👆 Fingerprint reader — DigitalPersona U.are.U 4500

Optional employee sign-in by fingerprint. Each station that scans needs the DigitalPersona Agent installed and the reader plugged in; the matcher service runs on your hub (port 8788). This key must match the one the matcher service was started with. Leave blank if you're not using fingerprint login.

Tints the whole system a light orange with a “DEMO MODE” banner so it's obvious you're not on a live till. Every print (kitchen chits, receipts, reports) shows as an on-screen preview instead of going to a real printer — double-tap the preview to dismiss it. Turn off for a real restaurant.

🏠 Back-of-house (config) station

Lock all setup editing to one machine — your back-office one (a laptop, an office PC, whatever). Every other till becomes read-only for setup and can't overwrite it, so a stale terminal can never revert your changes. Set this on the device you do config from.

🧾 Printer Groups

Logical groups menu items print to — Hot Food, Cold, Bar, Pizza… Each item is tagged with one group; routing then points each group at real printers per area.

Each physical printer. Epson TM-m30III / TM-U220 connect over the network (ePOS); a USB printer (POSBANK A400) is driven by the master terminal. Printing rides the local network through the master — set the IPs with EpsonNet Config first.

On a small check a percentage tip is just pennies — under the threshold the display shows flat dollar buttons ($1/$2/$3), which convert far better; at or above it, percentages.
